Moving into a new building? What to coordinate with the committee and the contractor
What to check before moving into a new building: elevator, parking, hours and handover.
In the new neighborhoods of Ashkelon, Kiryat Gat, Beer Sheva, Sderot and Netivot, many moves are into buildings that have only just been occupied. A few things are worth settling in advance.
Elevator
In a new building the elevator sometimes isn't fully running yet, or the committee asks for it to be covered during moves. Check ahead.
Moving hours
Some buildings set fixed hours for moves so there aren't several at once. Coordinate the date with the committee too.
Truck parking
In a neighborhood under construction, some streets are closed or full of contractors' equipment. Check that a truck can reach the entrance.
Keys and handover
Make sure you have the keys and the apartment has been handed over before moving day. Nothing is more frustrating than a full truck facing a locked door.
